Where was I born and raised? I was born in Lubbock, Texas and was raised at Petersburg and then moved to Muleshoe, Texas when I was 14. I have one brother, Terry. My family farmed, raising cotton, grain and Hereford cows. I graduated from Muleshoe High School and went to college at Southwestern Adventist College in Keene, Texas.
Where do I live now? Officially in Bentonville, Arkansas. Unofficially wherever our fifth-wheel is parked!
My personal life: I travel around the country with with my husband, Joe, our dog, Joe Barky von Schnauzer, and our cat, Charlie. Both of our pets are altogether spoiled and rule us completely. As we travel, I do book signings and lectures and we attend pow wows where I love dancing. We have met so many wonderfule people everywhere we go.
I have one beautiful daughter, Chelsea, who is the inspiration for Annie and Lulu in Water On A Flat Rock. She and her husband Brian are presenting me with my first grandchild in April 2008! I am so excited!
In addition to my dog and cat, I have a special Brahma cow named Jackie and two Brahma-Beefmaster cows named Spotty and Pretty Baby. Together, Joe and I have about 65 Beefmaster-Limosin cows and five Miniature Herefords. While Joe and I travel, Chelsea and Brian take care of our cattle in Bentonville, as well as their own herd of Minature Herefords.
What else can I tell you? I love to travel and love to read. I watch the Young and the Restless every day as I have for over 20 years. I always have my next book bouncing around in my head. I could go on, but the truth is, my books are hopefully more thrilling than I am. If you want to know more about me, e-mail me and I'll tell you or I guess I could make something up about myself that’s exciting! It’s always more fun to make stuff up anyway.
