Z-pak is the brand name of azithromycin antibiotics which are pre-packed for a 5-day usage. The drug Z-pak is a common choice of antibiotic treatment for various types of infections, such as bronchitis, pneumonia, UTI, otitis media, sexually transmitted infection, and many others. Although Z-pak is a powerful antibiotic, it may not work for everyone. Thus, it is extremely important to have an appointment first with your doctor and let him check your condition so that he will know which medicine is best for you. The appropriate dosage for Z-pak antibiotics can only be determined and advised by your doctor. We do not recommend you to use this drug without prior knowledge or approval of a physician. Z-pak is also not an effective drug to treat viral infections such as cold and flu. You may only use Z-pak for the treatment of bacterial infections.

Before you start taking Z-pak it is important that you check first the label of the drug to know patient safety information as well as the indication, precautions and possible side effects of the drug. But do not forget to prioritize the instructions given to you by your doctor. Follow the right dosing mentioned in your prescription, and try not to miss your regular dosing. It is very important to have a regular level of antibiotics in your blood stream so that the bacteria will be given no chance of escape and they can be gradually killed, until they all disappear out of your system. You may take Z-pak tablets once or twice a day, depending on your doctor’s instructions as well as your recent health condition. Do not take more than what is recommended. You may take Z-pak together with your meals or not.

Sometimes you might feel a bit better during treatment. In this case, do not be tempted to stop the medication to ensure that all the bacteria has been killed. Continue taking Z-pak medications until the prescribed length of time for treatment is over. Otherwise, you will be giving chances to any bacteria that been possibly left out by the treatment to grow again and multiply. That is why some infectious conditions tend to be recurrent not only because the treatment is not enough to give long lasting cure but also the patient has stopped the medication before the due date.

Once you have Z-pak for your treatment do not forget to store them in a place safe from the excessive heat of the sun and moisture. Some children might be able to accidentally ingest them if you are not careful, so make sure to store your Z-pak meds in a tight container and away from the reach of small children. This does not only help you preserve the freshness of your medicines but also prevent accidental ingestion of drugs at home.
